Rotary News

Bradley Chapman, President & CEO, of Penn Highlands Elk was the guest speaker at the Rotary luncheon meeting November 13th. Mr. Chapman spoke of the Penn Highlands Health System mergers and acquisitions and recent signed letters of intent to acquire J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntington and Jefferson Manor in Brookville. Penn Highlands Health System operates on a 63 million dollar budget and employees 600 with an additional 250 employees at Community Nurses.

In 2015 the hospital was designated as a critical access hospital for reimbursement purposes as a way to prevent small hospitals from closing. Last year the hospital had a profit of 1.3 million and was rated by the Department of Health as deficiency free. Penn Highlands continues to work on their community perception and the recruitment of physicians and other medical talent. Also pictured is Rotarian, Georgiann Holly, who also sits on the board of Community Nurses.
