Sizerville’s Weekend Programs 6/22/2018 POOLSIDE POWWOW 3PM: What is a pollinator? What do they do? How do they help humans? Take a break from the pool to learn about these critters and what they do for us!
FILM IN THE FOREST: HUMMINGBIRDS: Flutter on down to the Campground Amphitheater to watch a film about these beloved birds! They are the tiniest birds, yet they qualify as some of the toughest and most energic creatures on the planet. They are also an important pollinator! They will surely AMAZE you!
6/23/2018 NATURE CRAFT & STORY: EAGLES 3 PM: Join us at the Environmental Learning Building as we read "Bald Eagles" and learn more about our country’s bird. After the story, we will make a craft that you can take home with you! This program is developed for younger children, but all ages are welcomed!
Pennsylvania’s Bald Eagles 8PM: The bald eagle's history in Pennsylvania is a precarious one. Only 30 years ago, we had a mere three nests left in our entire state. With the help of the Canadian government, several agencies including the Pennsylvania Game Commission brought bald eagle chicks back to their states to reintroduce bald eagles to the Northeast. Today, Pennsylvania boasts more than 250 nests. Come out to the Campground Amphitheater to learn this majestic bird.
6/24/2018 NATURE CRAFT: SMOKEY BEAR 10 AM: Campground kiddos, come out to the campground playground to learn about the life and history of this Iconic Bear. After the story, we will make some bears for you to take home.
ANIMALYMPICS 1PM: Can you hop like a grasshopper? Slither like a snake? Or run like a deer? All animals have unique adaptations that help them to survive in their environment. Join us at for an afternoon of several mini-games to compare your abilities to those of animals and learn about their adaptations! This program will take place in the field just before the campground entrance.
