Winners of House Decorating Contest Announced

Cameron County Chamber of Commerce and L&M Lumber announce the winners in the Cameron County House Decorating Contest. This year the contest drew ten competitors from which the top three earn prizes.

A new category allowed voters to pick a house that was not in the competition for honorable mention. “Adding that category may encourage more people to enter next year,” explained Tina Johns Solak, Cameron County Chamber of Commerce executive director. Several neighborhoods received accolades include South Broad Street, North Vine Street and West Fourth Street. The house that topped the list was and toteaming up for the house decorating contest this year. Ten homes are listed on the ballot and voters select their top three selections. New this year is the opportunity to select a home not on the ballot to receive honorable mention. The top vote getter was the McFerren residence at 523 Maple Street in Emporium.

More than 70 people cast ballots in the contest. The top vote getter was the property at 1007 Bucktail Trail Highway (Danielle Mason), 79 Bomar Drive (Macro’s) and 114 West Fourth Street, Emporium (Goodrow/Miglicio) finish out the top vote getters.

The winners all receiving chamber bucks gift certificates provided by L&M Lumber.
