Paul J. Malizia welcomes his son Joseph A. Malizia to the law firm of Malizia & Malizia, P.C. at the Creighton Building at 25 East Fourth Street, Emporium, Pennsylvania.
Joseph “Joe” is a 2002 graduate of Cameron County High School, a 2007 graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, a 2011 graduate of The Pennsylvania State Dickinson School of Law, and a 2017 graduate of The Expeditionary Warfare School, Marine Corps University. After passing the Pennsylvania Bar Exam in 2011, he became licensed to practice law before the courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Previous to joining Malizia & Malizia, P.C., Joe served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps from 2012 to 2017. His tour of duty included time at the Headquarters of the Marine Corps, Pentagon, Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, and finally at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Quantico, Virginia, where he served in various legal capacities, including a criminal defense attorney and legal assistance attorney in Okinawa, Japan as well as the deputy legal advisor to the Commanding General of Education Command in Quantico, Virginia. Joe left the Marine Corps in June of 2017 at the rank of captain. His military career spanned 15 years during which he held eight ranks from private to sergeant, and after becoming a commissioned officer in 2008, from second lieutenant to captain.
Malizia & Malizia, P.C. was founded in 1976 by Joe’s grandfather and namesake, the late Joseph J. Malizia. After completing law school, Paul joined the firm in 1982. Since that time, and after the death of Joseph J. Malizia in 1990, Paul has continued practicing law as a general practitioner whose practice includes, but is not limited to, criminal defense, business, contracts, and employment disputes, appellate practice, wills, trusts, estates, probate, and other property matters, family law, and social security benefits.
