Sylvan Heritage Program ~ Final Round of Military Banners

The Sylvan Heritage Council's third and final round of military banners will be going up tomorrow in Emporium beginning at 8 am. Thank you so much to our 154 sponsors - we certainly couldn't have done this project without you. And thank you, ultimately, to those men and women (and their families) who sacrificed so much for our great country. It's been our privilege to honor you all with this program.

The Sylvan Heritage Council, a group of Cameron County residents with diverse backgrounds, is committed to the betterment of our community through positive energy and action. A few of the projects that we have sponsored are: the installation of the Emporium welcome signs and the surrounding landscaping at the east and west end of town, the mural and banner projects, the new signs for the Endeavor and other local businesses, and the placement of a block retaining wall at the town’s east end triangle. These projects of the Sylvan Heritage Council are most fitting to their mission: to pursue sustainable economic growth through the beautification, revitalization, and historic preservation of our community in such a way that capitalizes on our area’s abundant natural resources and maintains our proud local heritage. We want our community to thrive and we intend to continue to be a driving force behind that cause.
