Wykoff Bridge Job to Start Late this Month Two-week detour will be in effect, March 27 through April 10

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will begin a Cameron County bridge replacement project on Monday, March 27. The bridge spans a branch of Wykoff Run on Route 2001 (Wykoff Run Road)) in Gibson Township, about one mile northeast of the Quehanna Highway (Route 2006) intersection. Replacing the bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Cameron County’s structurally deficient list.

A two-week detour will be in place from March 27 through April 10. The detour is necessary to remove the existing box culvert and set the new structure. The 38-mile detour will direct drivers to use Route 2001, Route 2006 (Quehanna Highway), Route 555, and Route 120. The detour schedule has been accelerated to lessen impacts to area fishermen.

Once the detour is lifted, remaining work will take place under traffic. On average, 375 vehicles move through this area each day. PennDOT expects the project to be complete on April 21.

All work on this replacement project is weather and schedule dependent. Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College is the contractor on this $500,000 project.
