Early Morning Fire at Emporium Hardwoods

The Emporium Fire department was among those that responded around 4 am this morning to a large structure fire at the Emporium Hardwoods. No injuries were reported.

Emporium Hardwoods ( previously Mallory Lumber company and possibly other names ) has been operating for over 40 years in the county of Cameron. It is known as an excellent producer of American hardwoods and employees 60 - 100 people at this local plant.


Fire alarm information below thanks to that posted on the FB page of Cameron County Fire Wire.

 Requesting a 2nd Alarm. Also requesting 2 tankers above the second sending Elk Co. 1 (Saint Marys) and Tioga Department 44 (Austin) to the scene. Elk Company 1 upgraded to a full company response. 3rd alarm struck. Company 16 for a tanker. Truck 411 from Elk Company 4 (Ridgway) and Rescue 3 (RIT Team) and Tanker 35 from Station 3 (Port Allegany) and a tanker from Mckean Station 12 (Norwich). Clinton Station 29 (Renovo) dispatched to standby at station 16 and was upgraded to the scene. Cascade system from Elk Company 2 (Johnsonburg). Engine from Department 48 (Coudersport) all requested to the scene. 48-1 reassigned to standby at company 14. Mountaineer Search and Rescue also activated to assist. Exterior operations only.
