Snow Arrives in Time for Cameron County Snow Festival
Cameron County Chamber of Commerce teaming up with Emporium Country Club to host a family friendly free event Saturday February 11. "We tried last year, but the snow did not arrive," says Tina Johns Solak, executive director of Cameron County Chamber of Commerce.
The event will run from noon to 4pm and feature a cardboard sled race. Cross country ski trails will be groomed, an area dedicated for snowman building,and a fire to warm up. The bathrooms at the Emporium Country Club will be open.
The weekend begins with an event for those over 21 at My Place. New owner, Jody Martin planning a craft beer and pretzel gala. Straub Brewery and Coors Distributor will offer craft beer samples. Pretzels will be available for purchase with the money raised donated to Emporium Moose Kids Christmas.
Sunday afternoon a chili cook-off will be featured at My Place.
Contestants for the cook-off can register at My Place. There is no fee to enter. Those tasting will vote using tickets. The cost to taste is $5.00.
"The chamber is excited to partner with these two businesses and bring winter events to the region," says Solak
