Loons and Eagles at Sinnemahoning State Park This Week
The loons are still at the lake! The number varies at different times of the day. One visitor reported seeing 18 last night. There were 5 loons out there this morning. This viewing opportunity will not last long – these migrating birds are likely to leave by the opening day of trout season next week.
Lots of activity up at the newest eagle nest. Have the eggs hatched? Join us at the Eagle Watch this afternoon between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM to see the nest and the adults and, hopefully, catch a glimpse of the baby eaglets.
Eagle Watch will be held every Saturday and most Sundays from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Wildlife Viewing Area just one mile north of the Park Office & Wildlife Center.
