All Fired Up & Kicking Ash BBQ Competition Deadline Approaching

All Fired Up & Kicking Ash BBQ Competition Deadline Approaching

The deadline to show off your barbecue skills at the All Fired Up & Kicking Ash BBQ Competition is Friday September 18. The competition is set for Saturday September 26 in downtown Emporium. “The event coincides with the District 4 Trapping Convention,” said executive director Tina Johns Solak. New this year will be the sale of beer and two new divisions: side dishes and deserts.

Individuals or teams are invited to enter. The price is $50.00. Cookers will set up in the vacant lot in downtown Emporium and offer their wings, pork, ribs, turkey, sides, deserts or brisket for sale. A team of 5judges will decide the winners in each category. Visitors will then select a People’s Choice winner. The awards were created by PA Wilds Juried Artist Steve Burlingame.

The competition is open to restaurants, non-profits who would like to put together a team, or individuals. “It is for bragging rights of the county!” Johns Solak explained.

Entry forms and rules can be found at www.cameroncountychamber.org or by calling the chamber office at 814-486-4314.
