Barbara DeLozier Smith of 108 East 6th St., Emporium, passed away on Sundary August 9th at the Pine Crest Manor, St. Marys following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of Jean McManigle Dunkelberger of Emporium and the late W. Merle DeLozier.
She moved to Emporium at an early age and attended Cameron County schools and was graduated in 1961. She attended Dubois Business College and after graduation was employed at the Patee Library at the Pennsylvania State University. Returning to Emporium she began a 40 year career in banking, starting at the Bucktail Bank & Trust, Sunbank, Citizen’s Northern Bank Trust Department and retired from Citizens as Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer.
She held elected office as a Cameron County Auditor for a period of 29 years, She was a volunteer at the Cameron County Food Bank and for the Guy and Mary Felt Manor in Emporium.
She is survived by her mother, Jean Dunkelberger,Emporium and a son Michael Scott Smith of Emporium. A granddaughter, Ashley Ann Galindo of Mansfield, and a great granddaughter, Olivia Galindo of Mansfield, one brother John F.(Sandra) DeLozier of Coudersport, PA, and two sisters: Beverly J. Walker and Frances (Ray) Jablonski of St. Marys.
At Barb’s request there will be No Visitation.
Private graveside service will be at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Barnett Funeral Home, Emporium.
