PORT ALLEGANY- Richard L. “Slim” Michael, 60, passed away Thursday (July 9, 2015) in Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium, PA.
Born in St. Mary’s, PA, he was a son of Joseph B. and Alice L. Mantz Michael.
Richard was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, Class of 1974.
Mr. Michael had worked for Motor Coil of Emporium, before having to retire.
He had attended Keating Summit Methodist Church, and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving in addition to his mother Alice, are a daughter, Jo Lynn Michael of Emporium; four sisters, Karen M. Michael and Barbara A. (Gene) Glasgow both of Port Allegany, Gail L. Michael of Statesville, NC, Betty J. Michael of Tappahannock, VA; and several aunts and uncles, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph, a brother, Joseph B. Michael, Jr.,
and a sister, Judy L. Taylor.
There will be no visitation.
A private memorial service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorials can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
