Ernest C. Russell


Ernest C. Russell, 75, of Manley Hot Springs, with his loving wife by his bedside, went home to be with the Lord on June 26, 2014, at the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

 He was born on Sept. 26, 1938, to Carl A. and Edith Louise Dickinson Russell at the home of his grandparents, Ernest P. and Winnie Chandler Dickinson on Sizerville Road in Emporium, PA. He was married to Anna M. Snyder Russell on Nov. 4, 1972. They moved to Alaska in 1973 and lived there ever since. Ernest graduated from the Cameron County High School in Emporium, PA, in the class of 1957.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, step-mother, Hilda Russell, and sister, Carol (Russell) Perusich, of Wasilla. He is survived by his loving wife of more than 41 years; brother, Jim, and his companion, Karen, of Emporium, PA.; brother, Terry, and wife, Bea, of Manley Hot Springs, and a sister-in-law, Mary Vander Wall, of Phoenix, Arizona.

 He was a member of the Manley Baptist Fellowship in Manley Hot Springs. He was truly loved and will be greatly missed by his loved ones and friends.

 A graveside service will be held next week at the Newton Cemetery in Emporium at a date to be determined.
