Every
May we all make a special effort to remember our
Servicemen and Women.
On May 26th we again will
have a parade and a memorial program at the Veterans’ Park (the Big Flag)
starting at 10AM.
This year the Emporium Garden Club
through the generous donations from our community will be a part of the
celebration.
We would like to invite you to be a part
of the dedication ceremony of the Blue Star Memorial Marker.
The Blue Star Memorial Program honors
service men and women. This program
began with the planting of 8,000 Dogwood trees by the New Jersey Council of
Garden Clubs in 1944 as a living memorial to the veterans of World War II.
In 1945, the National Council of State
Garden Clubs adopted the program and began a Blue Star Highway system, which
covers thousands of miles across the Continental United States, Alaska and
Hawaii.
We wish to thank all who have donated
time and money to make this memorial possible and hope to see you on Memorial
Day.
