Administrative Professional
Day in Cameron County will feature a cooking class! Cristy Solveson, author of the “Call Me Crazy”
blog and supporter of the movement to reduce or eliminate genetically modified
organisms in food, will explain the effect of GMO and aid those in attendance
in making their own tortillas that can then be stuffed with other fresh items.
Solveson says eating GMO free does not have to be without pleasure. Desert will be chocolate brownies and home
made icecream!
Many of the products used in
the meal will be purchased locally including from Mountain View Natural, located
in downtown Emporium. Lorah Lehman and
her family opened their store earlier this year.
The event is open to any
employer who wishes to send their administrative professionals. It will be held Wednesday April 23 from
11am-1pm. The fee is the same as last
year $30.00 for members and $35.00 for non-members. Door prizes will be offered and each
participant will take home a recipe book with unique spices to create GMO free
menus.
Reservations are required and
will be accepted until April 16 by calling the chamber at 814-486-4314.
