Ila Kay Bush Dolnick, 83, of Clear Creek, Emporium, died Friday, January 10, 2014, at her residence.
Born February 1, 1930 in Clear Creek, she was the daughter of Archie and Fern Hutchison MacKay Bush. On July 17, 1954 in Bedford, she married Albert L. “Snuffy” Dolnick who died March 15, 2011.
A lifelong resident of Emporium, she was a 1947 graduate of Emporium High School. Kay was employed at the old Cabin Kitchen in the 1940s and later for a short time by Sylvania Electric both in Emporium.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Emporium, was a great supporter of the local library, and was a member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Emporium Country Club. Her life’s passion was cook books, cooking and being in the kitchen.
Mrs. Dolnick is survived by one son, Jeffrey (Mariann) Dolnick of Marietta, Georgia; one daughter, Renata Dolnick of Portland, Oregon; two granddaughters, Abbie (Kelsey) Heuer and Lindsey Dolnick both in Georgia; one sister, Alla Bergstrom of Emporium; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Natley Myers and Dawn Mullet and one brother, Tyler Bush.
Friends will be received in the Coppersmith-Condon Funeral Home, Emporium, Friday, January 17 from 5-7 p.m.
Funeral & Committal Services will be held in the First United Methodist Church, Saturday, January 18 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Short, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Newton Cemetery, Emporium.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 306 S Spruce Street, or the Cameron County Ambulance Service, 299 E Second Street, both in Emporium, PA 15834
