Keystone Elk Country Alliance Wants to Hear You

A new addition to the Weekend in the Wilds will be the first ever Elk Calling Contest. The event will be hosted by the Keystone Elk Country Alliance on Saturday July 6 at 3:00pm.    The contest is open to professionals, amateurs and children and will be governed by the 2013 Keystone Elk Country Alliance’s Elk Calling Rules.
The objective is to imitate actual elk sounds and allow contestants to demonstrate their ability to reproduce the sounds. An amateur is a person who has never won an elk calling contest, while the professional level is for those who own a calling business or works as a sales representative for a calling business. The youth division is for anyone 17 and under.
First second and third places will receive cash prizes. The registration fees are limited to professional ($20.00) and amateur (10.00).   Youth can compete for free! A list of all rules and registration forms are available at the Cameron County Chamber of Commerce office, or can be downloaded at www.cameroncountychamber.org.
