Gerald L. Allman

 
Gerald L. Allman, 73, of Austin, Pa., formerly of Emporium, died Saturday, May 18, 2013 in Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys.
 
Born January 8, 1940 in Emporium he was the son of the late Sherman and Marjorie Thomas Allman.  In 1961 he married Betty Sue Baker who passed away in November of 1998.
 
Mr. Allman was a veteran of the United States Navy.
 
Following his service in the navy he returned to Emporium and was employed as a logger in the lumbering business. He eventually settled in Pasadena, Texas and was employed as a long distance truck driver based out of that state. In 1996 he returned to Emporium and continued to drive truck until retiring in 2006. Mr. Allman recently relocated to Austin.
 
He was a member of the Bucktail Rod & Gun Club in Emporium.
 
Survivors include: two sons, David W. (Juanita) Allman of Austin and Gerald L. Allman, Jr. of Bolivar, NY; one daughter, Linda Lee Allman of Olean, NY; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one brother, James (Madeline) Allman of Dunnellon, FL; one sister, Judy (Ted) Nichols of Emporium; and several nieces and nephews.
 
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Lee Allman in 1948.
 
There will be no visitations. Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
 
Arrangements are under the direction of the Coppersmith-Condon Funeral Home, Emporium.
