Burn Ban Resolution 2011-6 has been adopted as of 10AM 7/27/11 for Cameron County.
This will take affect 48 hours after adoption (i.e. Wednesday, July 27th) and remain in effect for 30 days unless an extension is imposed prior to the 30 days.
Burn Ban Definition:
Open burning is defined as the ignition and subsequent burning of any combustible material (garbage, leaves, grass, twigs, litter, paper, vegetative matter involved with land clearing, or any sort of debris) out of doors either in a burn barrel or on the ground. The use of propane or gas stove or the use of tobacco in any form is not covered under this act. Camp fires are allowed in fires rings that confine and contain the campfire and only in designated Federal, State or DEP licensed campgrounds.
Penalties will be imposed through law enforcement officials.
