Emporium Downtown Businesses Lining Up for First Friday

Friday August 5 Emporium will celebrate First Friday. It is a promotion to highlight businesses in the downtown and encourage folks to mingle and shop at stores. “Communities across the nation host First Friday events,” according to Cameron County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Tina Johns Solak. The event will take place from 4 to 7 pm.


Businesses participating include Good Earth Partners highlighting plants that are drought tolerant, Emporium Pharmacy with a 15% off promotion of all gift items, Reid’s Hometown Emporium offering back to school supplies, Mountain Laurel Credit Union will show off its new location on West Fourth Street, Fox’s Pizza Den in Emporium will debut hog wings, Aroma CafĂ© & Restaurant will offer walleye, Cameron’s Beauty Salon will have an open house, Northwest Savings Bank will honor customers with free cookies, Flowers N Things will have cash n’ carry bouquets available, Floor Masters will open its doors to musicians for a jam session and the chamber office will offer wine tasting.

Businesses interested in participating and not listed should call the chamber office this week. The chamber is also accepting reservations for the wine tasting and the jam session. The chamber can be reached at 814-486-4314.
