David J. "Bugs" McManigle, 74, of 89 Willowwood Dr., Emporium , PA died in Erie on Friday (April 15, 2011) afternoon. He was born May 18, 1936 in Emporium a son of the late John F. and Marian Cooper McManigle. on April 30, 1960 he married Sarah Hathaway, who survives
David and his wife Sarah celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last April. Bugs graduated from Cameron County High School in the class of 1955. He served with the US Army in Anchorage, Alaska during the time the Alaskan Territory became our 49th state. He was a coowner of the former McManigle & Markert Business Supply Co. for many years. He had worked for Sylvania, Emporium Borough and Motor Coil. He served on the Emporium Borough Council over 15 years and as President for several of those years. He was a member of the K of C, Monte Fonte Lodge, Buck Trail Rangers and the St. Mark Catholic Church.

In addition to Sarah Hathaway McManigle are sons David "Scoop" McManigle and his wife Karen of Emporium, Mark "Howdy" McManigle, State College, PA.; daughters Julie McManigle and Jerry Catalone of Emporium, and Karen Munson and her husband Eric of Erie, Pa.
14 Grandchildren: Justin, Nikki, Megan, Donald, Bree, Erica, Lexi, Bethany, Zach, Sean, Kyle, Garrett, Chase & EJ;
3 Great Grandchildren: Ray-Ray, Nicholas, Karson
Sisters; Jean Dunkleberger, Emporium, Elaine McManigle, Towson, MD, Virginia, Mrs. Larry Pope, Lawrenceville, GA., Phyllis Sullivan, Emporium, Maxine George, Emporium, Judy, Mrs. Ralph Mongillo, Bradford and a brother John "Mick" McManigle, Emporium.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium on Monday (April 18, 2011) at 10:30 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant.
Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-6 PM.
A Military Service will be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.
Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium.
