Sizer Run Mishap

Two Emporium residents were transported to Elk Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries after a one vehicle accident on Sizer Run in Shippen Township at 10:00 pm on January 18, 2011, according to a release from State Police sent today.


Jakeb D. Callahan, 31, of Emporium, PA, was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 west on Sizer Run Road at a high rate of speed and while negotiating a right hand curve, lost control of the truck.

The truck traveled off the edge of the roadway, back across the road and struck an embankment and then struck a large tree, coming to rest on Sizer Run facing south.

Callahan and his passenger, Staci D. Osti, 20, of Emporium, PA, were both transported to Elk Regional Health Center by Emporium ambulance with moderate injuries. They were not wearing seat belts.
Callahan was cited for (not) Driving At Safe Speed.
