NATIONAL GARDEN WEEK

As we have breezed by Memorial Day and are now in June we see neighbors hanging flowering baskets, landscaping their yards and starting vegetable gardens. The growing season has officially begun.

As you travel through the downtown area you’ll see that the Emporium Garden Club has been busy filling the flower containers on 4th Street and beautifying the Brown Memorial Library as well as the Veterans’ Memorial Park located at Rt 120 and Airport Road. We also landscape at the Grove House, the Post Office, the Mini Park, the Cameron County Health Care Center, the triangle located at the intersections of Rt 120 and Rt 155 along with the atrium at the Guy & Mary Felt Manor.

In honor of National Garden Week the Emporium Garden Club members would like to invite you to a “Get to Know Us” in the conference room at the Brown Memorial Library from 1-3PM on June 10th. There will be light refreshments along with flower arranging demonstrations. We will also have 50 years of history to share with the community as we are celebrating being in existence for 50 years. Come and enjoy and maybe we have something to offer or inspire you to become a member.
We are planning a flower show this December in conjunction with “Weekend in the Wilds” in December so be watching for more details in the future.
On your way to the library be sure to check out the windows of the Christmas Store. Several members and friends have turned them into a gardening wonderland.
