Mary L. Tartaglia, age 87 of Beaver Dam, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 12, 2010 at her home. Mary was born on December 13, 1922 in St. Mary's, Pennsylvania to Elmer & Myrtle (nee Hoskins) Kraft.
She was united in marriage to Oscar Bailey and later to Joseph Tartaglia. She was self-employed as a beautician. Her family meant the world to her, and she was very proud of raising her children as a single, working mother. She also enjoyed crocheting and volunteering at Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Emporium, Pennsylvania and also St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam.
Mary is survived by her children, Deanna (Michael) O'Keefe of Machias, Maine and Tom (Lillian) Bailey of Beaver Dam; her grandchildren, Christopher Bailey, Jennifer (Ed) Stehling, Matthew Bailey, Mary Margaret DeWire, Patricia (Michael) Hill, Gean Marie (George) Tobin, Shelley O'Keefe, Katie Dowd, and Patrick O'Keefe; and 18 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph Tartaglia in 1953, her two brothers Francis and Robert, and other relatives.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be held on Saturday, March 27th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA 15834. Visitation will also be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will take place following the Mass at St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium, PA
