NPRC Welcomes New Members to Board of Trustees

NPRC Welcomes New Members to Board of Trustees

WARREN - NPRC’s Board of Trustees welcomed three new members during its March and June meetings. The new trustees have replaced members whose terms have expired or who previously resigned from the board. Appointed Trustees serve three-year terms. Joining the Board of Trustees are Justin Leventry of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; Ryan Betts of Warren, Pennsylvania; and Jessica Herzing of Emporium, Pennsylvania.

Justin Leventry joined NPRC’s Board of Trustees in March 2025 and brings important knowledge and experience in public service to the College. He currently serves as the Chief of Staff for Senator Scott Hutchinson, a position he has held for over 12 years. Leventry has dedicated his career to public service, working on behalf of rural Pennsylvania, and has over 16 years of combined experience supporting two senators from northwest Pennsylvania. In addition to his legislative work, he has held roles with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. A resident of Camp Hill, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a finance option from Millersville University. His service to his local community includes being a current member of the Lower Susquehanna Archeology Society, serving on the Hampden Township Planning Commission, and previously serving the president of the West Shore Kiwanis Club.

"I am honored and excited to continue serving alongside the entire NPRC team — from administration to faculty, and most importantly, the students from across the region. NPRC fills a critical gap by providing essential training and educational opportunities in an area with a profound need for workforce development and post-secondary education. As higher education undergoes a transformative period, I firmly believe that demand-driven, student-focused programs — like those offered by NPRC — will remain both relevant and essential.”

Ryan Betts began his service at NPRC after being sworn in during the Board of Trustees meeting on Friday, June 13. He is currently employed as the Executive Vice President for Betts Industries, Inc. in Warren. He is a graduate of Jamestown Business College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration/Management. His volunteer work includes serving on the Board of Directors for Betts Industries, Inc., Family Services of Warren County, the Warren-Forest Higher Education Council, Warren County Crimestoppers, Kinzua Youth Development Center, the Richard T. Betts Family Foundation, and the Warren County Career Center’s General Advisory Committee.

“Warren was truly blessed to be chosen as the home of NPRC, and I’m grateful for the vision and dedication of the local leaders who made that possible,” shared Betts. “The College's work laid a strong foundation for something incredibly impactful. I’m honored to now serve on the board, representing Warren County, and to help guide NPRC toward its full potential. As a community member and business leader, I’ve seen the positive influence NPRC has on our region and I’m proud to contribute to its continued success.”

Jessica Herzing was also sworn into her term with NPRC’s Board of Trustees on Friday, June 13. She currently serves as Commissioner Chair for the County of Cameron while also working for Judd A. Schager, CPA, as a Senior Staff Accountant. Herzing holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Central Penn College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her volunteer work includes serving as a Project Coordinator for the Cameron County Project as part of the Community Heart and Soul Initiative, as a board member for the Community Education Center of Elk & Cameron Counties, and as Audit Committee Chair for Pennsylvania Humanities.

“I am honored to join the Board of Trustees of Northern Pennsylvania Regional College,” noted Herzing. “Having served on NPRC’s Advisory Committee for several years, I’ve seen first-hand the impact this institution has had on rural students and communities across our region. NPRC is not just providing affordable education—it’s creating pathways to opportunity, stability, and meaningful careers. Service to my community has always meant investing in efforts that bring real, lasting change, and NPRC embodies that mission. I look forward to supporting the College’s continued growth and commitment to accessible, high-quality education for all.”

PETITION TO KEEP ATVS OFF OF PUBLIC ROADS IN CAMERON COUNTY
Please take a moment to review and sign the petition recently posted on Change.org.
The counties surrounding Cameron County have opened many of their roads to ATV traffic and the impact is REAL. The noise, dust, trespassing, littering and degraded water quality that ATVs bring are just a few of the reasons to say NO.
Let's keep Cameron County the 'Quiet Heart Of The PA Wilds'!
