Patrick's Medical Fund

Patrick's Medical Fund

My 25 year old cousin Patrick ( on left) was was struck by a car early in the morning on December 21st, while walking home. He was air lifted to Presby Hosptial in Pittsburgh, PA and remains in serious condition. He has under gone numerous amounts of surgeries to literally put him back together, and many times we thought we may loose him. He is a fighter though, and has been described by many of the nurses and hospital staff as a miracle.

Our family is beyond thankful for our "miracle", Patrick. We know this feeling all too well, as Patrick lost both his older brother, Josh, and our uncle, Blair in car accidents at a very young age. The moment we found out about the accident we asked ourselves how a tragedy like this could possibly happen to a family 3 times, but its clear that Patrick has a few angels looking after him!

This fund is being set up to ease the weight of medical bills on Patrick, and to help his parents, and brothers who are making the 3 hour drive in shifts to Pittsburgh everyday. We want to give our support throughout his numerous surgeries and treatments to lead him on the road to recovery.

Every cent helps.

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Ethel L. Haynes

Ethel L. Haynes, 85, of 1900 Cliffside Dr., Apt 206, State College, PA formerly of Sizerville Rd., Emporium died at her residence on Thursday (January 1, 2015) morning.

She was born January 23, 1929 in Emporium, PA a daughter of the late Clarence and Orvetta "Betty" Gribble LaPolt. On November 8, 1947 in First Baptist Church Parsonage she married Harry L. Haynes, who survives.

As a young mother, she worked hard to successfully provide a nurturing and stable home for her family despite the challenges presented by her role as the wife of a man with a military career. She successfully battled cancer when her daughters were on the threshold of elementary school, survived to welcome her grandchildren into this world, and recently learned of the impending birth of her first great grandchild. She was active in the Girl Scouts of American for many years with her daughters and husband, Harry. After numerous relocations throughout the United States and Europe over 20 years, she and Harry settled their family in her home town of Emporium.

Mrs. Haynes was a member of the First Baptist Church in Emporium, the Portage Township Cemetery Association and the Odin Grange. She taught children's Sunday School for many years and served as a deaconess at the 1st Baptist Church. She loved gardening and flowers. Plants thrived under her care. She and Harry nurtured a massive garden each summer that produced enough for shelves of canned goods and freezers stocked with produce. Together, they produced enough fruits, vegetables, and berries to share with family and friends. She was especially known for her homemade spaghetti sauce and luscious pies. She adored hummingbirds and had a cloud of them buzzing around a bank of feeders that she suspended from her porch every summer. She enjoyed unnaturally good luck when playing board and card games with her family and friends. Throughout her life, she was an irreplaceable anchor and support for her loving husband and family. Although her family grieves this parting, they find comfort in the knowledge that she merely precedes them into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Surviving In addition to her husband Harry L. Haynes Daughter: Jane Pierzga and her husband Michael, Pennsylvania Furnace, PA Daughter: Judy Langsdale, Euless, TX 4 Grandchildren: Nikki Foxx, Bryan Pierzga, Lindsay Langsdale & Jordan Stevenson Sister: Esther McKimm, St. Marys Sister: Naomi Gworek, Buffalo, NY Sister: Alice Schwab, Emporium
