Palma R. Slodoski

Palma R. Slodoski, 91 years young, of 62 Wheaton Hollow Rd., Emporium, PA, passed away on July 19, 2017. Palma was born on March 1, 1926 in Sizerville, Pa, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Villella Rizzo
. On July 24, 1948, she married Joseph Slodoski, who departed this life on March 18, 1996.

Palma graduated from Emporium High School in the Class of 1943, and worked for many years at Sylvania and as a legal secretary for late Attorney John Rydesky. Palma was a devout member and participant of the Saint Mark Catholic Church in Emporium. She is survived by a niece, Rosemarie Pruette of Philadelphia, and a 1st cousin, Normajean Villella, as well as her Catholic Church family and many friends, including her beloved Godson Michael Fragale and her devoted neighbor Margie Woods. In addition to her parents and husband, Palma's brother, Anthony Rizzo, died during combat in WWII, and her sister, Magdalene Boback also passed on. Palma was a woman of distinction best described as spunky, a real ball of positive energy. Her devotion to church, family, and friends was unwavering. Moreover, Palma's self-reliance, morality, work ethic, and willingness to help others epitomizes that "Good things come in small packages." Her greatest attribute was her humility, never wanting to take credit, but always first in line to lend a helping hand.
