Elizabeth E. "Edie" Johnson


Elizabeth E. "Edie" Johnson, 92, of 36 Clinton St., Driftwood, PA died at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys, PA Saturday night, March 18, 2017. She was born September 12, 1924 in Renovo, PA a daughter of the late George and Catherine Miller Saxton.

 On December 25, 1945 in Renovo, PA she married the late Frank Johnson. Edie graduated from Renovo High School. She retired from PA Pressed Metals where she had worked for many years. Years ago she worked at metal wire in Driftwood. She was a member of the Sinnemahoning United Methodist Church and the Driftwood Senior Center. She enjoyed making arts and crafts. Edie enjoyed spending time with her son Randy and her many nieces and nephews.

Surviving are a son, Randy Johnson, Driftwood; Sister, Margaret McKimm, Emporium and several, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Catherine Miller Saxton; husband, Frank Johnson and a daughter, Georgie Johnson in infancy, three sisters, Georgeann Buchanan, Catherine Long and Barb McIsaac.

 Funeral Service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Lola Turnbull, Pastor, Sinnamahoning United Methodist Church, officiating. 
Visitation will be one hour prior to the Service.

Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Driftwood, PA Memorial Contributions may be made to the Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library, 27 W. 4th St., PO Box 430, Emporium, PA 15834-0430
