Jean L. McWilliams

Jean L. McWilliams, 92, formerly of Plank Road Hollow, Emporium, died Tuesday, December 8, 2015, in Mountain Laurel Nursing Home, Clearfield.

 Born April 19, 1923 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Gertrude Lausch Miller. On November 8, 1942 in Lancaster, she married Charles G. McWilliams who died February 25, 2002.

A resident of Emporium for 70 years, she was a bookkeeper and for many years was employed by Bucktail Broadcasting in Emporium. Mrs. McWilliams was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Emporium where she was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Susanna Wesley Circle and served on the Funeral Luncheon Committee for many years.

Survivors include: two daughters, Phyllis J. Williams of Springfield, and

 Sandra J. (Russell) Unick of Clearfield;

 six grandchildren; 

thirteen great grandchildren;

 one sister, Phyllis Stern of Yardley; 

and two nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one daughter Barbara L. Streich and one brother, Elwood Miller.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in the Coppersmith-Condon Funeral Home, Emporium from 10:30 -11:00 a.m. at which time Funeral and Committal services will be held with the Rev. Joseph Short, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.

 Burial will be in Newton Cemetery, Emporium.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Emporium or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
