ST. MARYS — Under increasing financial pressure, Penn Highlands Elk has announced the layoff of 28 employees at the St. Marys health care facility, as well as hour reductions for 25 staff and the elimination of 15 jobs through attrition.
The workforce changes are effective immediately, according to spokesperson Karen Hazlett, who said the positions involved include full- and part-time clinical, support and management positions. Further details were unavailable Wednesday.
