Marguerite E. Munsell


Marguerite E. Munsell, 100, of 220 West Allegany Ave, Emporium, PA died at Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium, PA on Thursday night. (January 15, 2015) She was born October 27, 1914 in St. Marys, PA a daughter of the late Ernest P. and Rose Ruehl Ginther. On June 30, 1944 in St. Marys she married the late William H. L. “Harry” Munsell.

Mrs. Munsell graduated from St. Marys High School. She retired from the former Flickenger's Market Basket in Emporium where she had worked many years. She was a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church in St. Marys and also First Presbyterian Church in Emporium where she had been very active in teaching Sunday school and as a member of the United Presbyterian Women. Marguerite was a member of the Emporium Senior Center & Barbara Mascato Memorial Library. She was active as a Girl Scout leader, volunteer for meals on wheels, American Cancer Society and served on the Board of the Guy &  Mary Felt Manor Auxiliary.

 8 Grandchildren: Randy Munsell, Lisa Munsell Housler, Jill Munsell Catalano, Aaron Munsell, Kelley Erickson, William G. Munsell, Brian Munsell & Angela Munsell Gola 
14 Great Grandchildren
 Sister: Mary Ann Wensel, St. Marys

Preceded in Death By Parents: Ernest P. and Rose Ruehl Ginther 
Husband: William H. L. "Harry" Munsell who died March 23, 2004
Daughter: Greta Erickson
 4 Brothers: Robert, Henry, John and Gustaf Ginther
 Sister: Selma Ginther

Funeral Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 205 East Fourth Street, Emporium on Monday (January 19, 2015) at 11:00 AM with Rev. Philip W. Sanders, Pastor, officiating. 

Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-6 PM.

 Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium, PA
