Saturday starting at 5:00 pm is the red carpet meet and greet at the high school. Along with the opportunity to buy chances for the baskets that we are auctioning off.

6:00 pm Saturday is the official ceremony at the high school. We are honored to have Dave Labrozzi as our MC. Being a hometown kid, he will DAZZLE us, yet again, with his talents as an MC.....

To help you get to know your new president, Dave, a little bit better, allow me to insert an article that I found in the The Baltimore Sun newspaper:

"Many workplaces have that one person known as the in-house fashionista. At CBS Radio in Baltimore, that person is Dave Labrozzi. The 51-year-old vice president of programming is renowned for his suited style. "I'm a suit hog," he says sheepishly. "I have almost 40 suits." But, when he wears them this well, who can blame him? We "glimpsed" the Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania resident at the company's Bare Hills offices in a Hickey Freeman for Nordstrom navy pinstriped suit. He took it up a notch with a navy striped French blue shirt, a French blue polka dotted electric purple tie and blue, navy and pink enamel cufflinks -- all from Charles Tyrwhitt. His French blue pocket square is a wardrobe staple. His diamond and gold link bracelet was a gift, and he got his Citizens watch at a store in Pittsburgh. He purchased his Johnson & Murphy black tassel loafers at Jos. A. Bank. As for a fashion secret, today it had to do with his suit. "I got a call from a buddy of mine who knows how I like suits. He was at Goodwill and said there's a Hickey Freeman here. Go online and see how much it is [at Nordstrom]. I went online and it was $1300. We got it for $10.""

Looking forward to seeing you all this weekend. Be sure to bring your friends and take a few chances on the Chance Baskets.... Featured will be one about LaBron James, Dale Earnhardt, Reggie White (Green Bay Pakers), wine baskets and others, yet to be announced.

Just some of the activities planned for homecoming weekend -
Hometown Mentors, Inc. is pleased to announce a wonderful donation of office space on Fourth Street in Emporium that will house the Hometown Mentors, Inc. Corporate Headquarters. 25 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA is our new headquarters.

Thank you to Mrs. Malizia for the generous donation of the suite on the first floor of the Malizia and Malizia Law Office building.

The plan for HMI is to use this office to house the Hometown Hall of Fame: Cameron County Sports Edition and the other Halls of Fame to follow next year. (Arts, Sciences, Education and Humanities) The Board of Directors for HMI will also meet in this new office suite each quarter.

A schedule of volunteers will be made up to keep the doors open for travelers and people who want to come in and take a closer look at our organization and remember a time when they were living in our neck of the woods.

Plans are afoot, also, to cooperate with other nonprofit organizations in Emporium/Cameron County to share meeting facilities or computer equipment/Internet facilities. You can find more information about HMI, on our website: hometownmentors.org or email us at admin@hometownmentors.org.

The public is invited to attend the next board meeting of HMI, which will be held on the first floor of 25 East Fourth Street, in our new suite. The meeting will be September 27, at 9:00 am.

You will have an opportunity to become a member of HMI and learn details about the past year of operation for this new charity, as well as how you can become a vital part of encouraging your hometown into the future.

We will welcome Dave Labrozzi as he will be installed as President of Board of Directors at this annual meeting. This will be another growth year for HMI and we hope you will come on in, sit a spell and join the bandwagon.

Also on September 27th, HMI will sponsor the Inaugural Induction of the Hall of Fame at CCHS, starting at 5:00 pm with a red carpet meet and greet, and 6:00 pm ceremony to honor the 15 sports heroes and heroine from years gone by. Mrs. Catherine (Kate) Pohl will also be honored with the Hometown Life Achievement Award for 2014.

Dress is business/dressy as presenters will be formal and Admission is by free-will-donation. There will be many chances to win prize baskets being auctioned off to benefit HMI and the Hall of Fame.
