James V. Beshel

Port Allegany - James V. Beshel, 66, of, Keating Summit, died Thursday (October 27, 2011) at his home.


He was born Aug 21, 1945 in Philadelphia, a son of Francis and Teresa Bravitz Beshel. On Feb. 11, 1989 in East Lansdowne, PA, he married Maureen T. Kennedy, who died Oct. 22, 2004.

Mr. Beshel was a graduate of Fr. Judge High School and attended Bucks County Community College.
He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving from 1963 to 1969.
Mr. Beshel was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier in Bensalem, PA

He was a member of Knights of Columbus in Emporium, PA the May Hollow Sportsman Club and the Sinnemahoning Sportsman Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by
Four daughters: Donna (John) Donia, Kelly Russell, Dawn Russell all of Philadelphia, PA, and Janis (James) Doak of Sunbury, PA
One son: John Russell of Keating Summit, PA
26 Grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren
three sisters: Eleanor Razler of Philadelphia, PA, Carole Hilger of Willingboro, NJ, Norma Bush of Medford Lake , NJ

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 sons, Vincent Beshel in 1989, and James Russell in 2011, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday Nov. 1, 2011 from 5-8PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc, 105 N Main St, Port Allegany, PA. A Christian Wake service will be held at 5:00 PM in the funeral home

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2011 in St Mark's Catholic Church, Emporium with the Rev. Paul S. Siebert, pastor as celebrant. Burial will be in the Portage Twp Cemetery, Sizerville. Military Honors will be accorded by the Cameron County Honor Guard.
